The climatic ending of Ramadan is celebrated with festivities, gatherings among friends and family, and FOOD. It's a time of forgiveness, and for communities, families and friends to reunite. Jetpac is here to help guide you through on how to celebrate this Hari Raya with your friends and family. Plus a few extra tips at the end too on how to level it up 😉

Bazaars

Bazaars are spread out across the country, filled with food, retail stores and games! If you haven’t heard of it or been to any, you’ve probably been living under a rock. Famous for the wide selection of food, ranging from fries, japanese desserts to favorites like Ramly burger and Nasi Biryani. There’s bound to be something for you to feast on and activities to do. Some of our favorite bazaars are the Geylang Serai Bazaar and the Kampong Gelam Bazaar, among the many others. They open daily and usually close at 10pm.

Try out Muslim Dishes

LET THEM COOK. Hari Raya is definitely the perfect time to try out muslim dishes! Join your friends on a journey of muslim food such as Biryani, dates, lentils, Nasi Lemak and more! There are also many hotels and restaurants offering Itfar buffets and promotions during this period. Great for enjoying with friends and family.

Hari Raya visiting

Join your muslim friends in celebrating Hari Raya by doing some house visiting! Food served during Raya visiting is usually buffet style, so you can fill your tummies to the brim. You’ll have to eat with your right hand, as using your left is a sign of disrespect. Remember to dress appropriately, nothing too revealing as it is a traditional celebration! You may get a Raya packet too, which may be filled with money. But never open it in front of everyone, as a sign of respect. Do all this and you’re good to go for your visit!

Nearby getaways to experience Hari Raya

What better way to spend Hari Raya (besides with family and friends of course), than to take a quick getaway for some good food, shopping, beaches and warm hospitality. Bring your family or friends or even travel abroad to visit family and friends! You can find more bazaars right across the border in Malaysia, more variety of food and shopping in Thailand and sunny beaches in Bali!
